La Va, 2100 South Street, Graduate Hospital. Great panini’s (try the chicken), hummus plates, vanilla chai and espresso chocolate chip cookies. There’s always eclectic art work so stop in often to see who’s currently featured.
The Bean Exchange, 7th and Bainbridge, Bella Vista. Cute atmosphere, good coffee and lots of lovely little distracting items to buy while you’re waiting.
The Last Drop, 1300 Pine Street, Center City. Come here to people watch, study or chat with a friend in this cozy atmosphere framed by windows. There’s also additional seating downstairs and lots of flyers and information about local events to be had along with fresh coffee and tasy baked goods.
Soy Cafe, 2nd and Fairmount, Northern Liberties. Amazingly fresh tea blends (the Green Tea with honey is my favorite) and awesome vegetarian and vegan snacks, smoothies, lunches and treats. Call ahead and pick up for the fastest service.
